Object Narratives: the outcome was a 1 min film created for a commission with MENA Arts UK that was developed from an experimental collaborative 5-min film. The objective of the project was to tap into my heritage and my cultural identity that I have suppressed due to insecurities, racism, and islamaphobia. I was enquiring about how we can reconnect with our cultures via the process of learning through making. Modelmaking was my method of making as it allowed me to explore my roots through creating a space/world to immerse myself in without having to visit a specific country or a city. Secondly, stop motion was the method of filming because I wanted to include character into the world, but could not use live actors so I wanted to re-tell my journey of the discovery & exploration from my POV walking around the space.
