Opera Design: The outcome is a speculative production design (set, costume, lighting). I was enquiring about a new performance genre: opera which ties into my background in classical singing & classical music. Additionally, I was enquiring about the
logistics & practical elements of designing for large-scale venues like the Vienna State Opera and how to budget & coordinate a design process as if it was a real production. Another element of the process was how to create a concept and world without a director, but with a co-designer and how to approach creating the concept as a designer who’s dramaturgical skills can be applied to the direction, choreography, and narrative.
